Objective:
To redesign a Stainless Steel head plate for a glass vessel bioreactor that enables injection and sampling during our cultivation process.
Off the shelf head plate has dip tube that do not provide the desired amount of volume or injection depth. Once in operation with agitators & adapters the overhead space is cluttered and hard to access for the user.
Design Revisions
An initial prototype was printed with tubing that matched exactly to the desired maximum flow rate. Features include deeper injection tubes to reach a desired mixing depth and taller overhead height to reduce interference. Once verified a welded version was designed and manufactured.

A final revision was made to achieve a deeper injection depth and a bent tubing.
