TESLA TRUCK CROC
PITCH
It's said that Life (God Elon's Cyber Truck) imitates Art (Crocs) far more than Art imitates Life, but what if we combined them both? Then what we would end up with are the Tesla Truck Crocs.
An integral part of any pair of Crocs are it's accessories and customizability. People traditionally rely on jibbitz or even crossbody bags, made by some crazy attractive people I heard, but no one has ever customized it in this fashion before.
Combining memes and comfort, the Tesla Crocs work by attaching to the bottom most holes on the side working like a traditional body kit.
Shown on a size 8 croc but thanks to 3D printing any croc size are possible.
Will be printed with ThermoPlastic polyUrethane (TPU), a super flexible material usable on printers that would allow for maximum movement and comfort (probably)
The colors on the truck are simple enough to be printed on a multicolor 3D printer or to be traditionally spray-painted over.
Design & Manufacturing
Gained approval to work on the project but had a design constraints that caused major head aches.
My initial plan was to divide the truck into two halves (front and back) to make revisions easier. However it was greatly desired to have it as a solid piece.
This made the attachment method easier (fitting on top of a croc is way easier than lining up the pegs) but made printing take over 66 hours!
This made prototyping essentially impossible and made each print be a hopeful final product. Also made the timeline of the project go one on for much longer than desired
First Full Print
After 66 hours and 3 nights of sleeping in the living room the croc cover came out about how I was expecting.
TPU is a very difficult material to print with and from my research it seems that anything aesthetic often requires a few passes with sandpaper.
Culprit of long print time, will tinker with ways to increase overhang to remove supports while without reducing quality
